The challenge was to create a summer clean and simple card so I went with a quick brayer and silhouette scene and added some fireflies.
-The scene is masked off using scrap paper torn into two sections; use one for the ground mask and then switch to the other piece to mask off the sky.
-The sky color is applied with a brayer using two colors.
-The ground was applied with the direct to paper technique (just rub the stamp pad on the cardstock).
-The moon is a stamped image then I cut a circle and glued it to the card. The circle is a flower center from a Cuttlebug die.
-A gel pen was used for the fireflies. After adding some to the scene I let them dry then rubbed across them with a sponge with ink then added more doing nothing to those; this is to catch different stages of the lighting.
I think those bugs are just fascinating the way their little butts light up!
Inside and Envelope: I a partial image stamped after inking then stamped again to form depth.

Beautiful and SPECIAL and what memories it brings!! I loved fireflies as a child... I still do but hardly ever see them anymore. The windmill reminds me of visiting my grandparents in the midwest in my childhood (too many years ago). Several years ago I scattered wild Queen Anne's lace seeds on our pond bank and I've been enjoying them ever since. So you see why I think it is special!
