I wasn't sure I'd get time to make a card especially for the ODBD challenge to use flowers, but after the TLC yesterday, I had an idea I really wanted to try to create. Many years ago I visited friends in London - one was an art college grad, her husband was an architect - and in their sitting room they had a plain empty wooden frame hanging on the wall, with a creeper twined round it. This is the best I could do tonight.
A2 base, Basic Grey and a scrap of woodgrain paper for the floor, all edges sponged with brown. I made my frame by cutting two frames from chipboard with square Nestabilities. I sponged one with several shades of brown ink, wrapped some floral wire round three sides and then stuck the other frame to the back for strength. I placed it on the card to get an idea where to stamp the sentiment (Staz-On Timber Brown). I stamped a whole load of little leaves from Vintage Vogue (alas, my smallest leaf punch was too big) on a scrap of green Bazzill, and punched a few flowers, sponging them with Spun Sugar distress ink. I also made two tall flower stems with Summer FlowerSoft. I taped the end of the floral wire down under where the vase was to go, and then stuck the leaves and flowers all along it, added green distress Stickles to the flowers. The vase is the SU ornament punch, and fairly heavy watercolour paper which I sponged, then embossed and then sponged again. I moistened it a bit to shape it, and stuck it over all my stems. (I also scraped a bit of the excess Stickles of the bottom right flower ). It's pouring rain and dark and I've broken one of the bulbs in my studio lights, so excuse the photo.
