Hi! This card was made for today's Inspiration Challenge: Home Sweet Home State. I have lived in 7 states, and have moved 17 times. That's right...and the longest I've lived in one state? Well, I've been in Jacksonville, Florida since December 3, 1983. So, that makes it home. I'm not considered a "native" or a "G.R.I.T.S." (Girl Raised In The South), but I call Florida my home state. Heck, both my husband and I were born in Pennsylvania, but ALL of our boys were born in Jacksonville, so that makes Florida our home state. Yes, we're still called, "Yankees!" LOL
I cried a bit while making this card, as last Father's Day, we took Dog, (just recently passed), to the beach with us to fly kites. (It's our tradition. Yes, I HATE the beach, but my husband and boys love it, so I go along and enjoy the dogs.)
The background was made by squishing up a piece of Hazelnut Tan and flattening it out and rubbing the NUDE Palette ink over it. Next, I added black dots. I stamped the trees from "Our Family Tree" and lengthened the trunk with a Memento Marker. I used the Reverse Mask Technique to sponge in the moon. Next, I sponged in the sand, ocean and sky with Palette Inks. The "sea oats" are part of a pine cone branch in the Sneak Peek of "Take the Time." The sentiment is also from that set.
Finished card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Total Time to complete: 41 minutes (I had to stop to walk the puppy!)
