My mom lives in a very nice apartment building. The place was designed for elderly and handicapped people.
It's a friendly place. As you walk down the halls, many of the people have their apartment doors wide open, and call out a hello to anyone passing by.
Many of the apartment doors are decorated with a wide assortment of cute and pretty things...my mom's door included.
Last week she gave me a really cute kitty she'd cut out of a large greeting card, and asked me to make a sign for her door, so that in case of an emergency, her cat might be rescued too. She wanted me to use the cut out kitty.
The kitty is what I call "Country Cute". As much as I liked the image, I was concerned that it might be just a bit too "folksy" cute to put on a rescue sign. Mom had attached the cat to cs that was a medium blue/gray color.
The more I studied it, the more convinced I became, that on her door, it wouldn't be bright or serious enough to catch the eye of any rescue people.
I decided to change mom's idea for her sign. I thought this big-eyed, peeking kitten would be better on such a sign.
I got out my Cricut and cut the letters in red, then cut shadows for them in black. I attached the image and letters to the vibrant green cs.
The sign measures 9 1/2" wide x 6 1/4" tall. I think if mom plants this on her apartment door at about eye level, it should do the job if there's ever an emergency.
