 | | I was inspired by this fabric's colors and now that IÂ’ve gone back to get the link I see it says red but itÂ’s orange on my screenÂ…how about yours? ThatÂ’s okay I do have red among the colors I used for the sky.
Fun challenge as always!
-Using watercolor crayons* I did a watercolor wash (SCS technique link) with yellow and covered the watercolor paper stopping the run just beyond the brown; this was done with a ½” flat brush. I then streaked orange using the flat brush followed by red using a fan brush. Using the flat brush I added the brown for the ground area and vertically streaked on green with the fan brush. Now you let it dry or speed up the drying process with the heat tool.
*To create the wash with crayons: wet the flat brush and rub it across the crayon letting it drip into the section of the paint palette or small dish.
I thought the wash seemed a little thicker than using ink for the color and it gave me nice results when I streaked with the fan brush. ItÂ’s also great to have a new technique for those lonely crayons!
-Stamp on the solid colors; the large flower and wheat werenÂ’t completely solid so I used a black marker to color them.
-I came up with the layout by using up some scrap paper and do I have a lot of scraps!
-Diamond Glaze was used to attach the nailheads.
