For today's Ways to Use It challenge, WT260, Let's Play--a challenge to design around things you play. (I think my homemade punched frame also qualifies it for this week's technique challenge TLC262 for faux nesties.)
My nephew, who plays Little League and is a big Cincinnati Reds fan, turns 10 next month. I still needed a birthday card for him, so I thought a baseball themed one would do the trick!!
Sponged in sky and grass. Hand cut the peanut bag (after stamping a striped background on white card stock). The squares behind the baseballs and gloves were also either stamped or sponged by me. The peanuts that have fallen out of the bag are popped up on dimensionals, as are the baseballs and gloves.
I'm sure my nephew will love this card, but the fact that it is so unpolished (I had to fudge and do a lot by hand) makes me a bit uncomfy. I probably spent way too much time making this, but I *was* having fun, so I guess that makes it OK!!
Thanks for looking!
Emily

This is SO cute, Emily! Baseball and peanuts go together! We have to save the "peanuts in the shell" only when we are at a live Cards game. They are TOTALLY TOO messy for the family room! : ) Your card made me smile....good spring things to come!
Your nephew is going to be thrilled with his card. Your efforts show...so many great details creatively done! TFS

Emily, this is wonderful, and he will surely love it. I grew up ini Cincinnati, and was a big fan of the REDS. Now I'm a big fan of the RED Sox. DH and I just made the deposit for a trip to Baltimore in June to see a couple of RED sox games against the Orioles. I guess you could say we are BOTH big fans!! Don't disparage your card. I think it's really representative of baseball games!!
