My DGD and I put together this gingerbread house back in 2007. IÂ’ve wanted to scrap these photos, but for some unknown reason, IÂ’ve always wanted to do a paper layout, not digi pages for these pics. Thus, since IÂ’ve been out of paper-page mode for quite a while, I hadnÂ’t scrapped the photos. Finally, I decided that my next paper project would HAVE to be these pics, so here they are!! JennÂ’s challenge (Paint the Edges) was perfect for the photos -- as you can see I painted the edges of some to resemble the frosting on the house and gingerbread men (or like snow, if you like.) Although you probably canÂ’t see, I also used Icicle Stickles along the entire edge of the wavy white borders at the top.
IÂ’m happy with how this turned out and IÂ’m glad I waited until I was in the mood to scrap with paper.
Journaling:
-"Mady and Grandma made their very first gingerbread house (and gingerbread men too) one weekend in December ‘07!
-Although the house was made from a kit, each part of the roof, walls and chimney had to be assembled and attached to the other parts using icing.
-This is a side view. It was fun adding the gumdrops and other goodies all over.
-We made the gingerbread men while we were waiting for the house to dry it took quite a while for that.
-Small journaling: MixinÂ’ the Frosting, The other side , The Back, Proud & happy girl
-Several hours laterÂ…Yippee!! WeÂ’re finished!"
