I was asked to participate in a Chocolate & Orange color challenge and this is what I created.
Not *too* heavy handed on the colors, but I was dying to use a few of the new Hero Arts stamps on this card.
The card is 5" square. The Poppy was stamped twice with archival ink on Grunge Paper (let dry) and then I used a variety of Distress Inks to achieve the look I wanted. I painted the different Perfect Pearl colors to add the extra special touch I wanted. I then cut all the pieces out & layered them back up on the card to give it dimension. I guess that's kind of paper-piecing, in a way.
Accessories: Staples (Tiny Attacher - Tim Holtz) , Ribbon (Michaels). I also used Ranger's Glossy Accents as "glue" and SU's Dimensionals to help pop-up the petals.
Techniques: Paper piecing (kinda), watercoloring (with the Perfect Pearls) & Paper tearing.
