Whilst everyone is busy making Christmas cards, I still have a couple of birthday cards on the go. This one is going to my 6 YO nephew. This is also for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog & this week's challenge is to use at least 1 punch on your card - whether border, shapes etc. See this link for the deets: http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com...-13-punch.html I used my Fiskars Threading Water border punch for the bottom teal green border.
I designed the card around this gorgeous ribbon which I've had in my stash for awhile - I love it SO much that I almost couldn't use it - lol!! I really love the brown & teal green colours together.
The dinosaur was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Gamsol, Prismacolor pencils and Acrylic paints. I stamped the dino a 2nd time and cut out the arm and popped it on top of the 1st image with 1mm mounts to give the image a bit of dimension. I added Kindyglitz to the present and the party hat. The sentiment is from a Popcorn the Bear set & it fitted perfectly inside the box like it was meant to be there! The main panel is up on 1mm mounts.
There is a Scor-Pal line both above & below the ribbon and also above the teal green bottom border. I added a strip of brown cs underneath the holes in this border so that it is a direct contrast to the ribbon (if that makes sense).
Thanks for having a peek at my non-Christmas card!!
