Today's WT challenge to use numbers was just what I needed to kickstart me into making my FIL's birthday card - he'll be 90 this year. It's always hard to come up with a card for him.
Looking at the numbers, I decided to go for a gatefold card with a number on each panel. And having used Lovely as a Tree last year, I had to come up with a different set...
My base is a piece of Bazzill 12x4 inches, scored at 3 and 9. I embossed the two outer panels with D'vine Swirls, and edged them with a gold leafing pen. I cut two panels with Labels 8 and added gold brads and some chipboard numbers coated with white EP. Two eyelets let me tie it together with some raffia.
For the inside, I cut two more panels, one with a computer-generated sentiment and one for DH to write on. For the main panel I stamped the boat and coloured it with Couleur d'Art pencils, a gold pen and a white gel pen. The birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts, with a gold eyelet in the centre, and popped up on foam.
If I were different, and if my FIL were different, I could have gone for a sentiment along the lines of still sailing on the seas of life - but it's not either of us!!
Thanks for the perfect challenge, Julia.

I love the front of your card, and this inside is brilliant, with the boat carrying the *Birthday Wishes*!!! One of my all-time fav SU! sets! GREAT job, Sabrina!
