Today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge by Mothermark is to make a card that works within her story of Zeke, the slightly rebellious teenage zebra. It seems he is in a rock band, doing a concert in Africa, and has dyed his hair red among other things. His parents are rather conservative and have hired the group to travel with Zeke and convince him to walk a straighter line.
Well, I (like many others -even Mothermark had reservations about this assignment) actually don't agree we should change him. If all our children do is dye their hair a fun color, then we are doing good. Plus if you are going to be in a rock band, you have to have a cool gimmick. Lastly, to be honest, Zeke looks good in red - so many other Zebras are boring old black and white. So I guess I am stuck with coming in the back door and all....
My daughter, Crystal, is turning 19 next Tuesday. The cake we ordered is a round zebra print cake with lime green trim and a giant designer shoe sitting on top with all the sparkles and fru-fru the designer (my friend Casey) can add. Crystal is so excited about the cake because hasn't had an elaborate birthday cake since she turned 8 or 9, and she adores Casey's cake gallery. She also loves Teapot Tuesdays and has pestered me all day about what my card is going to look like - I had to hide the card twice today. The green slip of paper with the bow pulls out of the zebra print pocket and details out the top 12 reasons we love Crystal (her sweet heart, her gorgeous smile, her love for others, her strong sense of fairness, her devotion to God, etc...). She has asked repeatedly if I have made her card yet - she will love this one. By the way, last year Crystal did a purple streak in her hair - it was bright and then she followed a week or two later with a small nose piercing. I liked them both and since she hasn't given me much to worry about her whole life, I didn't say a thing. The nose ring came out a few weeks later which was probably a good thing. She is a wonderful daughter even if I am major partial! Anyway, I will be supporting Zeke's look so I will stay in the background.
If you are interested in making cards in the world of tea and make believe here is where you can find the details:

What a very lovely daughter indeed, and it's not only her obvious looks, she seems to be perfect like all our children. LOL
So glad she got the nose thing out, I get overly sensitive and it's like I have it in mine when I see a person with one. LOL She doesn't need much of anything to add to her natural beauty, but like you say, it is better not to go crazy on them and just let them be. I am doing better the second time around with my younger son, I'm more mature also...
Beautifuly done with the papers and love the pink. Send her my best wishes, you and your dh have done well!
