Stamp a background stamp and use it to ink a stencil. I used the WAVES stamp from Local King Rubber Stamp (www.localkingrubberstamp.com) and a koi stencil by Dreamweaver. The stamp will ink/color the non-embossed portion of the stencil, i.e. it will provide the background. For the water I used SU Bermuda Bay.
Emboss paper using the inked stencil. I used the Big Shot. It goes SOOOO much faster than using a light table and stylus.
Wash and dry the stencil.
Place the stencil over the embossed area and sponge the design as desired. I used a smidge of tape at the top and bottom of the stencil so it wouldn't shift. I applied the color (SU Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango) to the koi with a wadded piece of plastic wrap.
My dear friend, rdm, and her husband got this card for their 10th anniversary.
