I was intrigued by yesterday's Technique Lover's Challenge and decided after I saw Cindy's TPT lighthouse image that I would combine the two and try case Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. I love that painting. It is my favorite painting.
I used the technique to create the scene on my card. First I stamped the lighthouse from the Guiding Light set by GKD and embossed, then I used my gold and silver leafing pens to create the stars and swirly background. Next, I used my aquapainter and painted the backgroud with crushed curry, bermuda bay and not quite navy. I used SU! markers to paint the lighthouse and added some tiny silver bling to the star centers, as well as some stickles for shine. It was hard to catch the glimmer of the stickles in the photo, but I hope you can see it.
Thanks for looking!

I found this in the TLC gallery, but of course I recognised it instantly as a TPT card. Your starry, starry night is fantastic, I love the way you recreated it here.

Hi Beverly! That is most definately the beautiful starry sky that I was promised when I rented the lighthouse house at Peggy's Cove! What an artsey card....very nicely done and so perfect for the teapot challenge! I love your little piece of art Ms. BeeVanGogh!
You did Vincent proud! Follow me...I will show you a place to house your art, one that is safe from stinky fish, wet clothing and tea party food fights! Sometimes we really have to protect the cards we bring!

What a wonderful artsy card. I love how you used yesterday's leaf resist to recreate the starry night. While looking at your card, I was hearing the Don Mclean song... Starry, Starry Night as sung by Josh Groban. Had to go to Youtube and listen to it. I love your light house.

Even before I clicked on the thumbnail, I knew this was a beautiful re-creation of Van Gogh's Starry Night! Wow! You did a suplerbly fantasamajistically awesome job, Bev! I love this beauty! Can I order one for my stampin' room?
I'm so glad you came to the tea party. I must agree with JoJot that this must be the calm before the storm. The fish flingin' contest is about ready to begin.....are ya ready?

I love Van Gogh, too! You did an amazing job with this fabulous creation. Love your starry sky and lighthouse! Now, quick, hide it before Charlene starts flinging fish!
