I was intrigued by yesterday's Technique Lover's Challenge and decided after I saw Cindy's TPT lighthouse image that I would combine the two and try case Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. I love that painting. It is my favorite painting.
I used the technique to create the scene on my card. First I stamped the lighthouse from the Guiding Light set by GKD and embossed, then I used my gold and silver leafing pens to create the stars and swirly background. Next, I used my aquapainter and painted the backgroud with crushed curry, bermuda bay and not quite navy. I used SU! markers to paint the lighthouse and added some tiny silver bling to the star centers, as well as some stickles for shine. It was hard to catch the glimmer of the stickles in the photo, but I hope you can see it.
Thanks for looking!

Wow - this is one of my favorite paintings too, and you did a wonderful job on it. I read the instructions for that challenge and ran to the hills, but you embraced it and did a fantastic job. I love all the sparkle you added - makes it really fancy. Looks like the Northern Lights - so pretty.

HOLY MOLY this card is FANTASTIC! Are you sure you aren't Beegoh? Or Vincent Beestamper? The sky is perfect! But is there a storm ahead? Better don my Cabelas Rain Suit that Jason gave me on our honeymoon...I've only worn it twice...was expecting a gold watch or something, but HEY it works for today, hee!

This is one of my favorite paintings, too. (Hard to believe how unsuccessful VanGogh was during his lifetime.)
You did a great job of creating such a lovely bg for the lighthouse.

This is so amazing. From the time my DD was 7 she has loved Van Gogh as her favorite painter because of Starry Night. Her dream is to see the original in the NYMuseum of Art- some day. Your rendition is fabulous and I love that you used that cool technique for the sky.
