This card is for two challenges: today's Clean and Simple challenge (CAS26) to use stitching on a card and the Flourishes birthday card challenge (FLLCBDAY) to celebrate Flourishes' second birthday. Happy Birthday, Flourishes!!
I *did* debate with myself whether this card was truly a CAS card or not. I followed Miss Boo's instrux to not debate with yourself (at least too much!) and decided that the "simple design regardless of . . . how long it takes to color" definition applies because of my very straightforward layout. (Once the coloring was done, this card was very simple to put together.) I hope everyone will agree.
The red gingham is a nice scrap of chintz that I grabbed from my scrap bag. I pinked the edges and stitched it to my card base with a zig zag sewing machine stitch. I colored this beautiful Flourishes stamped image with my trusty colored pencils and used Sunshiny Yellow Fun Flock on the centers of the strawberry blossoms--not sure that will show in the photo. The inside of the card says "May the simple joys of life full this special day and be yours throughout the coming year." I've got to say that strawberries are definitely one of the "simple joys of life" to me!!
Anyway, thanks for looking!
Emily
