Slow and steady wins the race. All my catch-phrases are wrong - obviously this is a snail, not a tortoise. A snail in the grass, not a snake in the grass...
Even from the sneak preview, I had this little snail in mind for Cindy's tea-party today. I didn't realise we were going to France or Italy though. Hey Cindy, did you forget that they eat snails there?
We have French friends in Brittany. Pierre remembers the Tour coming through when he was a child, and the excitement of it all. I've seen some of the mountain stages, and I would NOT like to cycle them. They were pretty hair-raising in a car.
Where it looks bent at the top of my card is some more snail slime AKA Brilliance Platinum, with which I swiped the edges. I don't use it too much, and it's still way too juicy. But it's not bent, oh no - no rowdiness allowed at Cindy's ladylike parties.
The base is A2 covered in some neutral paper. The embossed layer is ultra heavy watercolour paper (at least 200lb, maybe more) which I sprayed with water first to help it emboss. Believe me, I've tried hand-embossing this stuff! I very lightly touched the grass and bird up with H2Os for minimal contrast. The snail was stamped twice on lighter watercolour paper (I want to keep the feeling in my hands, thank-you), and his shell was embossed with Versamark and clear EP, then popped up. I added Brilliance Platinum all round the edges and a Stickles trail along the bottom.

Like the subtle colors of your card. They really meet the challenge. That is one happy snail. I bet he is so jolly because he made it safely across the road. To have seen the actual race site gives you a seat at the head of the table.

Awww, I'm so glad he made it to the party with you of course. (smile) Your snail is so cute Sabrina. Love this CB folder too. Love your subtle shading on the grass, just so soft and warm.
Have a seat now and we can get on with our chat while Sabine gets acquainted with your man snail. He is a male right. TFS

This is beautiful Sabrina. I can't imagine riding in this race. I have seen some of the routes just on television and it looks hair raising. Love the sweet little snail. I would never have thought to wet the water color paper to emboss it. Great idea.

What a pretty card, Sabrina! I love the snail trail in the grass (you cracked me up with your catch phrases). Save some tea for me; I am way behind the game today!

Hi Sabrina! Giggle! To answer your question, I am not much of a world traveler, to tell you the truth, I did not know ANYONE ate snails! I don't get outta town much. About as far as I get is the end of my street on the way to work. I think thats why I am having so much fun traveling! And just think! Now I know that people eat Snail! Snort!!!
Shh....don't talk too loud about snail slime! Before we know it one of the tea potters will figure out how to sling it!
Love that you came! Oh, and one more thing. I didn't know you knew how to talk French but I *heard* you talkin it with one of the other tea-potters!! You go girl!! Hee!
Your card is creative and so fun! I must say that little guy looks about how a snail would look facing about 350 pedaling maniacs coming at him full force! A little shock factor!
