Well, the former VSN hostesses who've been doing a virtual tour of Europe were treated to a wonderful tour of Austria this week with Michelle (eliotstamps). For our challenge, Mish challenged us to take the word "salt" (where Salzburg) got its name and use it somehow in our creation. I took her suggestion to use the salted background technique, using saffron, marigold morning, and summer sun. I then sprayed the dried salt background with gold webbing spray. I was very inspired by the brilliant yellows, whites, and golds in so many of the palaces. Unfortunately, even though I took this picture in the sun, I couldn't capture the shimmer (from the glimmer mist) to the image very well! It's not too late to join us. You are welcome to read through the thread to enjoy The Netherlands, Greece, and Austria, but we have a lot more planned for the summer. It's really been like a real vacation, the tour guides have been great and I've learned so much. Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Jean, this is gorgeous! I love the gold webbing stuff - what a neat effect. And the image you chose is perfect for Salzburg and Austria. Thanks for coming along the tour with me.
