Oh, my, has my day taken off in so many directions. As I headed off to Dublin this morning, I was working on my card on the way, I decided if they had a botanical garden with flowers and doves, that there must be a lake there with a beautiful swan. When I thought of the lake, my mind wondered to days gone by and a song by Bob Seger-Fire Lake.
I have to tell you nothing went well with this card except the music. I wanted to use my MS fern punch and it is missing in action. My coloring was way off this morning and I didn't have the paper I wanted to use. I decided nothing was going to ruin my day with you gals at the botanical gardens and pulled it together anyway. I am not going to let those birds flying over my head ruin my day either. I brought my bird poop repellant, I have extra, if anyone needs to borrow it.
We sure let our minds run wild with these challenges and our trips. LOL I travel many miles sitting in my own home, atleast there is no jet lag.
Footnote: The dog in the background is the statue of my boxer, Atlas, (painted to look exactly like him) who has gone to the bridge.

I love this! Your white swan on that lake is gorgeous. I have never seen a swan fly so I won't be worrying about the poop part. Because he looks mighty large and I would hate to be under his flying poop. lol What an idea to make this while traveling. Keeps you occupied on these long flights. Lovely card. Looking forward to seeing you at the party! TFS :0)

Hey, bird poop repellent! Shirt, you know how we are always trying to come up with the next get rich quick scheme! I think you've done it! And since I am the first one here to acknowledge your wonderful idea, I am your partner.... Lets get together after the party and discuss our plans since our last idea didn't pan out...do you remember what that was? Or did it make lotsa money and you didn't give me my share??
What a day...is that a real doggie in the background or one of those stone statues???? Cute! So glad you could come despite your issues. I think your punch was confiscated at security at the airport! Metal does that!
Just look at you with a birthday card for your friend! Good thing you came all the way to Dublin to figure out it was your friends birthday! Whew, close call! I love your card.....glad you are here....relax, enjoy, card making is stressful, its time for tea!

Oh goodie! Shirt the Squirt has arrived and she has the poop repellant! Thank goodness cause some of the gals have gotten a little outta hand (can you imagine???). Bertie is trying to be good today, but it's gettin' difficult with each passing card and moment.
At least your delicate and beautiful swan is situated right next to Traci's lovely card. You should be fairly safe. I love the reflection of it in the still waters of this pond by the fragrant botanical garden. You'll be able to rest easy and let those frustrations go in the serene environment today. WATCH OUT!!! Oh, jeesh! Cathy's little turdy birdies are really lettin' loose. How can such little birdies have so much poop in 'em? They almost got ya. Ya better put your hat on, my friend.
So good to see you, again! Will Pat be joining us?

What an elegant swan, reflection and all. Like the colors you chose. Hopefully all the poop that is falling will fall in the lake and miss the tea table and guests. Oh but I forgot, you have the repellent so no problem.

I think this is a beautiful card Shirley. I love the statue of your boxer. What a terrific tribute to a special part of your family. I too love Bob Seger. His songs bring back great years in my life. Super job on this teapot card.

Atlas was a very handsome dog, and I have to look up the song now.
Shirely, I can't tell you how I relate to your card, my stuff always comes up missing the day I need it, then I wonder if I ever really had it, or just thought I did!
Well, the blue is pristine and this reminds me of a mountain lake, and the swan is wonderful with his dimensional feathers...
and now you can sit back and sip your tea with me...oh, could you please pass the bird doo repellant?? Thanks friend!

Oh, I am so sorry you had such struggles today. I know exactly how you feel!
Your swan scene is so serene and peaceful! Just beautiful!
And after I finally tore my eyes away from your pretty scene, I noticed that handsome statue. What a wonderful remembrance of a dear friend. I can totally relate to that, too.
Wonderful, wonderful card and story.
