 | | Today's challenge was to pick a photo/art work from Sarah Collier's works. I went to her gallery, and my first reaction was: "well, no...this isn't in my comfort zone". I continued to look through the whole gallery, but when I saw this piece: http://www.flickr.com/photos/colliers08/2436912821/
I was inspired to make this card.
The photo is in a frame in my office/stamp room and is of my Mom and Dad taken at Virginia Beach in 1945. They had been married only two years and both were in their early twenties. The quote says:
"Love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking together in the same direction." I love that they are both looking off to the side and this quote seemed perfect for this. I scanned the photo and then colored the silhouette stamp with SU markers and the sentiment was stamped in Close to Cocoa. I then sponged over the entire image with Distess ink, Antique Linen to bring out the already off white color of the photo. Then sponged the edges with Distress ink, Vintage Photo.
Thanks so much for looking! |
