I love Fridays, not only does it bring the weekend closer but it is also the Twisted Sister Challenge - we are to use brown, green, light yellow, we were to make it summery, use a corner rounder and a border - now I am not sure if it we were to use a border punch OR border our image - so I went with the image side of things! I used a lot more browns and greens, but it looked more like autumn....so I went for lighter paper in those colours and used this cute image that Sue (aka Coffeestamper aka Perk) sent me in a RAK ....the only stamping on this card is the sentiment which has been embossed! This card is also for the Flourishes Tuesday Challenge where we are to use DP on our cards: http://flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/
I do love this image and as the card came together I wasn't sure if I liked it, but I perservered and slowly it seemed to come together....it is very different for me - I am sure you would not have picked it as mine when you first saw it...but it does us good to do something different, to go outside our comfort zone. The truth is I was making it easy for myself....well....I was dreaming....I have spent longer on this card than I have on those a lot more complex - funny how it happens that way!
The image is popped up with 3D foam dots as is the butterfly. I have sponged and paper pierced around the DP as well as sponging around the embossed panel - that makes it feel a bit more like my card! Dew drops, that were sent to me by my dear friend and Twisted Sister Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn aka Giggles) were added to each side of the sentiment - I love these, we can't get them here, so that makes it even more special!!!
As I was chosing the DP's for this I got a phone call...and who should be on the other end but Peggy....it is always so good to talk with her and believe me - we do talk....as soon as my DH hands me the phone he says, 'see you later' as he knows it is not a short call - isn't it amazing how you can meet someone through a common interest and connect instantly - I just love the friendships that I have made on SCS and through card making....I have heard a saying that friends come into your life - for a reason, for a season or for life.....how true that is...I have never been half hearted about anything....so this is a lifetime thing for me - so look out!!!
Thank you for looking I look forward to your comments - I would love to hear what you think of this card.... It is now Friday night and we are 'chilling out' for the weekend - I hope you have a great weekend - God bless you!
Oh - by the way - can you see where I have used the corner rounder - me neither - oops - or as my DD1 says 'my bad! - what's with that!?!? LOL!! But you can ALL see the DP - can't you!

This is just the sweetest card, Linda! I love that adorable girl. Did you color her? The coloring is fabulous! I also love the distressing ink you used and all the paper piercing. So cute!
And I totally agree with you about the special friendships we all are forming through this passion for cardmaking. Even though most are cyber friendships for now, they are some of the best people I've ever met, and I love when I get to talk to them by phone!
Enjoy your weekend. It's our Friday morning, and I am looking forward to the weekend myself.

Hey Linda: LOVE your card!!! What a cute image. And, I adore your watermark. Kathy is trying to help me with mine too, but my husband is out to sea and I need some help from him on our new photoshop program!! Good to see you are in business with yours. LOVE your papers, the image, paper piercing and ef. I'm with you, the less intricate the card, the longer it takes me and the harder it is. I don't know why that is either. Some people just seem to whip out those more CAS type cards where it takes me forever!!! I agree with you about SCS - I've met the BEST people EVER!!! TFS Linda and thanks for letting me know about the Flourishes challenge on my last card. I just uploaded there too!!! Take care!

This is precious! What a lovely girly card. Perfect use of the Pop Dots and I do love the invisable corner rounder! You make me smile and feel guilty at the same time. I need to get on with my card for today's challenge! See you later.
