I love Fridays, not only does it bring the weekend closer but it is also the Twisted Sister Challenge - we are to use brown, green, light yellow, we were to make it summery, use a corner rounder and a border - now I am not sure if it we were to use a border punch OR border our image - so I went with the image side of things! I used a lot more browns and greens, but it looked more like autumn....so I went for lighter paper in those colours and used this cute image that Sue (aka Coffeestamper aka Perk) sent me in a RAK ....the only stamping on this card is the sentiment which has been embossed! This card is also for the Flourishes Tuesday Challenge where we are to use DP on our cards: http://flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/
I do love this image and as the card came together I wasn't sure if I liked it, but I perservered and slowly it seemed to come together....it is very different for me - I am sure you would not have picked it as mine when you first saw it...but it does us good to do something different, to go outside our comfort zone. The truth is I was making it easy for myself....well....I was dreaming....I have spent longer on this card than I have on those a lot more complex - funny how it happens that way!
The image is popped up with 3D foam dots as is the butterfly. I have sponged and paper pierced around the DP as well as sponging around the embossed panel - that makes it feel a bit more like my card! Dew drops, that were sent to me by my dear friend and Twisted Sister Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn aka Giggles) were added to each side of the sentiment - I love these, we can't get them here, so that makes it even more special!!!
As I was chosing the DP's for this I got a phone call...and who should be on the other end but Peggy....it is always so good to talk with her and believe me - we do talk....as soon as my DH hands me the phone he says, 'see you later' as he knows it is not a short call - isn't it amazing how you can meet someone through a common interest and connect instantly - I just love the friendships that I have made on SCS and through card making....I have heard a saying that friends come into your life - for a reason, for a season or for life.....how true that is...I have never been half hearted about anything....so this is a lifetime thing for me - so look out!!!
Thank you for looking I look forward to your comments - I would love to hear what you think of this card.... It is now Friday night and we are 'chilling out' for the weekend - I hope you have a great weekend - God bless you!
Oh - by the way - can you see where I have used the corner rounder - me neither - oops - or as my DD1 says 'my bad! - what's with that!?!? LOL!! But you can ALL see the DP - can't you!

Linda, Linda, this is so darn cute. I love that adorable image and your fine coloring on her. Don't worry about the corner rounder, it was a corner punch, I think. This is such a cute card with out so we won't worry about it. I was going to make a totally different card today with different colors and say the rest of you had it wrong. LOL I couldn't do it, I know you all think I am looney enough without doing that. Your card is great and thanks for playing.

AW...Perkfully Pretty! What a sweet image! And perfect for our TSC summer time challenge. Linda, your paper piercing really adds so much to your cards, the detail is just knock out! (I am so obsessed with distressing my edges, that I forget I could do other things too!)
I love what you said about SCS friends. It is a 'God' thing really. I have met so many, and they have become life long friends. And the ones I have not met IRL are no less! I love how you refer to us as 'linking arms', that really is what we do. And to encourage others is a blessing. Thanks for sharing your work and your heart. Love you.

OMgoodness Linda You couldn't have done any better!!! This is the cutest image and your coloring knocks my socks off! Oh... I was bare foot already... oh well... trust me, if I had socks they'd be knocked off!!! Your TSC is just perfect! You are so good... you just keep em coming! I cleaned all day so I can go play tomorrow with my DD in the mountains... so no card here. So glad I caught this one though! Wow!!! I love your "bad"... my DD says that too! You know... while it isn't exactly your style you made it sing and I love the cute little girl image! Great TSC card!

Luvely, Linda, really sweet. That image is just adorable and the way you've colored her is nothing less than perfection.
Love the design and papers you've used, too. Came together wonderfully well!
