Well, Crafty Secrets ladies, this may not be a good card, but it was good for me!
I've been working on CAS and OLC cards lately and even though I love to make them ~ it was so much fun to do this.
Switching between the two styles, I can almost feel my brain stretching!!
It didn't hit me until it was finished that I didn't even stamp! I had intended to use stamps, but I keep some fun CS stuff in the drawer with my stamps and this picture from the Birds and Botanicals journaling cards caught my eye.
Anyway - don't feel you have to comment if you're looking, LOL, but thanks for having a peek
ETA: I should have color-corrected the photo better. IRL that brad on the upper right is much more mellow and really does suit the red in the picture ~ way too orange in the photo.
I think I know why it's not a good card. The whole time, I kept saying to myself that I was making certain decisions so I didn't overwhelm the delicate image. Then of course - I did anyway LOL!!! A little. But . . . i don't care.
Edited again: Well, yes, I did care after all!! May 6th, I uploaded a new version with the stickers removed and the brad placement adjusted - much better. Yes, sometimes less IS more

Fabulous vintage feel and colors Nancy. I love the image and the dp coordinates so perfectly. Very cute treatment of the ribbons and buttons. Love the POP of the black too.

I think it's a lovely card! And I think they MUST be crabapples and VERY small birds! (Just read your post in the forum...) I like the colors & ribbon you used and it does look very warm & cozy--very cottagey...is that a word?

I think they're cherries Nancy - just look at the tops of the stems, I don't think anything but cherries looks like that. So yes, the birds must be practically microscopic! You've used my favourite DP from the Radiant pad so I can't fail to like this ;o) The button treatment is cute, love the fact they don't all match!

I love this! I really like the way you tied some of the ribbon and thread the ribbon though other backwards. It gives nice balance. I must agree those crab apples are on the large side compared to the birdies~ maybe the birds are just mal-nurished. Thanks so much for playing Nancy~ I always appreciate your creative take on the challenges.

LOVE what you've done here ... the image of course is adorble and the way you've used those buttons and your ribbon ... you rock!!! I think I'd have to agree with Joanne ... looks like cherries to me too. SO glad you found time to come play the challenge ... hope you had fun!!!
