I followed my 'usual' MO for altering spiral notebooks - I collage the cover, using clear shelf paper (mactac, contact paper) as a sort of laminate to keep it all in place. For this mermaid collage, I used a page from a Josephine Wall calendar, stickers from PSX (mermaid, fish, some of the smaller shells), and a sheet of vellum stickers from sticko. There is also a quote sticker that I cut in half to fit - it reads "we are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams."
For the binding, I used all kinds of beads from my stash, as well as a vintage-replica key (I love that key!!). I attach beading wire to one of the coils, and then bead, twist, weave through the coils until I'm happy with how it looks. I just make sure to re-anchor the wire every few coils to make sure it doesn't come loose. Oh! I nearly forgot, there are also a couple of shell buttons from Dress it Up with the beads Very relaxing & easy to do while watching TV

OMW, this is stunning!!! Truly gorgeous in every sense of the word! I am generally not a fan of collage but this piece has won me over for sure. Thanks for sharing such a lovely creation.
