Hands down, one of my favorite bloggers is Kim Hughes. I love her cards, I drool over her layouts (mostly because that is a skill I never acquired and am just in awe), and her stamps are darn cute. That woman has some serious serious talent.
This week, while I was on her blog, I saw that she was hosting a challenge over at Scrapbook and Cards Today. Her challenge was to use a black and white patterned paper as the main focus of the card and to add just a pop of a couple of colors to it. I haven't gotten a chance to really put her outdoors set (Bear Hugs) to use yet, so I jumped at the chance to pull it out.
If you know me, you know I love long skinny cards. I just think they're unexpected and fun. And the paper is one I picked up for Halloween but never got to use very much, since fall was kind of crazy. I think it works well for this -- seems to match the swirliness of Kim's images well. Orange and green are my absolute two favorite colors, and I just love them together, too!
