Hello everyone! Wow! 200 Color Challenges! When I first saw this I thought "ugh"! But then I did what I always do when a CC boggles me... I looked to nature. I have been inspired by the pretty Bachelor Buttons I've seen on here from time to time, made with the MS Cornflower Punch, and that was my starting point. I only had one sheet of the Brilliant Blue, so I couldn't mess up too bad! LOL!
I punched 6 cornflowers, then used a Provocraft die cut to get the funky offcenter "centers" which I cut out of not quite navy to give the illusion of darker centers. Although IRL Bachelor Buttons don't have yellow or orange centers, (I don't think anyway... not according to my flower book)... I had to give them something so I chose some orange gemstones. I used Pumpkin Pie to mat my sentiment panel with Nesties Label 1, stamped the image with Brilliant Blue, water colored the Stampabilities Butterfly with Pumpkin Pie, and punched the leaves out of Garden Green, used my embossing stylus to vein, then sponged on more GG for a little depth. Popped the butterfly up on foam, colored over the black ink with glitter pen, then painted it and the flower centers with Diamond Glaze for a shine and stiffening.
Card is matted as follows: Base- Garden Green, then Brilliant Blue, then GP White run through the CB and then Pumpkin Pie matting for the label one GPW sentiment layer.
As always... thanks for looking and have a great day!
I'm happy with how it came out even though I thought I'd hate it.
