We were to use things that we recycled in our cards for the Going Green Challenge...Limited Supplies. I had saved a pie pan from Thanksgiving because I just don't throw anything away nowadays knowing that I might be able to use it later. My husband thinks I'm silly. When I do these challenges, I try to stay within the realistic things...it's just me. I made this card for my husband's scrapbook, one day I'll get to it at least before he retires in 2013...I made the tags from the pie tin using the Sizzix tag die cuts. I traced around the bottom to cut out to be a little more rounder so it would match with the top part. I used the Stylus to engrave his name and the year 1980 when he joined the Marines. I used the Cropodile to set the eyelets. I added silver cording as the chain. I then mounted the tags onto vanilla c/s which was used with the CB Mesh folder. I trimmed the Marine DP from Karen Fosters Designer paper and mounted. I also sponged with distress ink for a rough look. I added brads to finish. I know he'll like this, but will be amazed on what I made it out of. Thanks for your comments. Have a wonderful night!
The tin is clean on the "1980", its the glare from the light. I must of taken about 8 pictures for this one. Sorry.

I love this! Your dog tags are so creative! My husband is a Marine and will be retiring in a couple of years too, so into my faves it goes to give me inspiration at a later date! Thanks for sharing the details
