I made this and the Jolly Sparrows for today's challenge, to use watercolour paper. I wanted to be a big adventurous, but the best laid plans...For once we finished late in work, and by the time I got home I had a bad headache. And my supervisor had asked for a sympathy card for tomorrow.
I still wanted to be a bit adventurous, so I dug out this background paper I made about two years ago - it is watercolour paper. I can't, now, remember what I used on it. I did a whole batch one day using inks, paints and whatever. What it looks like is I misted the paper with water and then brushed it with a wide wash brush in blue and green. Gouache, at a guess, though at this distance in time I can't swear to it.It smells different to the paper I am sure was ink, and feels a bit grittier. It was a wet technique, because I can see the clean line where I had the sheet of paper taped to a drawing board.
Anyway, I just stamped Inspired by Nature on it in dark grey, sponged the edges with Brilliance Platinum and embossed them with clear EP. Stamped the sentiment on some matching Core'dinations card, rounded the edges and used the slot punch to thread some yellow grosgrain ribbon through. The base is dark navy card.
