For the Stamp Simply challenge this week, we are to incorporate something from nature on our cards. I have this plant (I do not remember the name right now, but will call my daughter to see if she does) that in the fall gets stems that looks like twigs and then little red berries appear on the twigs. Very pretty, but let me tell you I have never seem anything that self seeds like this plant. The very first year I had it, I had "zillions" of plants in the spring. Now, I tried to cut it back before this happens.
So, back to my card. I used my new Label die from Spell Binders to cut and emboss the white card stock. Then I stamped my cute little bird and I cut the twigs off of the plant for him to sit on. I used the tip of the Pine Cone stamp from Cool Christmas to add some branches to the twigs. I bordered this with black for extra pizazz. I used a lime green scrap of paper I had and attached it to the plain green card stock that I had cut and bordered in black.
The Petite Oval Spell Binders die was used to cut and embossed the tag after stamping the Happy Birthday on white Card stock. I punch two holes in this oval tag and ran some lime green grosgrain ribbon through it. Since this card is for my son-in-law, I decided not to add a bow to it. I did add 3 crystals though, for color.
