I got busy today doing the challenges for World Cardmaking Day since I was at the OR/WA gathering yesterday.
This was a really fun card to make! I cut a piece of Basic Grey to use as the cardfront. I cut a piece of Only Orange and Green Galore 1/8" smaller than the Basic Grey. I actually made two of these because of the way I cut the green and orange paper....no waste! I cut both of the pieces diagonally and put 1/2 of each on each card.
I cut a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped Crosshatch on it twice, once in Only Orange and once in Green Galore. The turtle CHF is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using Gamsol. I added Lime Green stickles to the turtle's spots. The expression on his face just cracks me up! I dragged the edges of the image and sentiment panels in black ink. I didn't want another layer, but I wanted a defined edge.
The sentiment is from Pond Life Sentiments by Papertrey Ink. To make the little circles around my brads, I pushed my paper piercer through a piece of cardstock, then centered it in a 1/4" circle punch and punched them out. I made 4 green and 4 orange. Then I placed the circle on the corner of the panel and used it as a guide to pierce through the stack and put in the brad.

Love the double Crosshatch.
