I made this to get me excited about our Soldier son) coming home from deployment(s). I spent A LOT of time on this but had so much fun!! LOL This was a 'hodge podge' project with so many different elements.
The dogtags are made of shiny chrome-like paper and then punched out with my number punches. My hubby screwed in small 'mug hooks' into the clipboard to hang the number dogtags. I made extra numbered dogtags that hang onto a dogtag chain that dangles freely from the corner of the clipboard. I used Walnut Stain to antique the papers and edges of the clipboard. The words 'My Soldier' were printed off of my computer. 'Days' were individual letters handstamped. 'Home' are chipboard letters and 'Comes' and 'until' are metal cutout letters from I believe Making Memories. The yellow ribbon is a diecut from Cuttlebug. Ribbons and fibers varied from scraps I had in my ribbon jar. Background paper is 'camo' design that was sponged over with walnut stain to make it look aged.
NOTE: Military spouses, please be careful with posting in plain view in your home if you make this. Per OPSEC, you don't want the cable repairman, UPS guy, etc. or whomever you may invite into your home that may be questionable about knowing your personal business.

What a beautiful clipboard! Thanks to your son and your family for your sacrifices. Both my hubbie and I are proud to be retired Army. Also, thanks for your words of warning...many people would be surprised at what can happen when "harmless" info gets in the wrong hands!
I don't have anyone in the service but I really really want to make one of these. It's a super way to show your support! I applaud you it's a wonderful testament to your son. He's going to rallylove it when he gets home and sees it. I'll bet he's proud of you for this truely beautiful show of support for him.
