Hello and thank you for viewing my submission for the SCS Saturday Inspiration Challenge. We were to choose swimwear from the Athleta website and be inspired.
The blues and the flowers reminded me of summer. Although there is no teal in the swimwear, I got carried away with all the hues of blues! This was a fun challenge, and I really enjoyed it! Thanks Steph.
The card was created using a floral clear stamp set from Inkadinkado and K&Co. "Mira" Collection Designer Paper. I stamped the flowers onto Paper Trey's gorgeous white cardstock with Adirondack Pitch Black Ink. I then colored each flower with Prismacolor Pencils and blended them with Mineral Spirits. Each flower was cut out separately and then popped up on Amercian Crafts' Dimensionals. The floral bouquet sits on a white circular mat that was punched with a Marvy Mega Round Punch, and sponged around the edges with SU! Brocade Blue and Taken with Teal. Under that is a coordinating solid teal colored piece of cardstock that was punched with a Marvy Giga Punch. Under that mat is a square piece of K&Co. "Mira" Collection coordinating blue & teal., patterned dp. Underneath that is a coordinating solid teal piece of cardstock that was run through the Cuttlebug with the Swirls (I think) Embossing Folder. Under that is a white mat layer over top the coordinatlng Belgium Blue cardstock base. All mats/layers were dot-doodled with either a Zig Royal Blue Fine Tip Felt Pen or Signo White Gel Pen.
The sentiment is from the Clear Dollar Stamps set, "Monkey Madness" and was stamped onto Paper Trey White Cardstock using Adirondack Pitch Black, and sponged along the edge with SU! Brocade Blue & Taken with Teal. That was punched out with the SU! Large Oval Punch and then framed with a Metal Oval Frame from JoAnn's that was colored with a teal colored Sharpie. I anchored the frame with 2 Blue, Jeweled Brads from Making Memories.
I finished off the card with a stacked ribbon consisting of 2 different organza ribbons. The larger ribbon underneath is a very pale, striped light blue ribbon and the ribbon on top is a royal blue & white polka dotted ribbon. Both ribbons stacked well and the blue tones worked great together.
