All the work I put in this card I really wanted it to look better. lol Oh, well, next time. I bought a book titled "Stacy and Friends 40 Techniques for Making Cards and they had a background in it that just caught my eye. It was really fun to do. I first cut masking tape into 1/4 inch strips, masked my card into diamond shapes. While the tape was still on the card stock, I used a sponge to color the background yellow, then added a little peach in other areas, stamped medium peach with a flourish stamp and then again with a flower stamp using dark peach. I removed the tape and sewed down the middle of each white strip. Once that was done the rest was easy-- Punched two circles with a scollop punch, stamped three flowers that I used in the background, cut out and used iridescent ice on them. I stamped the bird, colored it, used fine detail embossing powder. Put it together, added a few gems and I was done. Sounds easy so why did it take me most of the day.
