WT64 The Heat is On

The heat has finally hit Ontario and in honor of summer finally arriving we are going to pull out our heat guns and find ways to use them. I seem to go in phases when I use my heat gun on almost every project and then take a break and hardly use it at all. Let's see what you all can do with yours.

I did want to let you know that things have been terribly crazy around here. The kids have been extremely busy with end of the year projects and DH is home renovating for a few weeks so I hardly even looked at any of the projects from last week's challenge. Sorry, I'll try and do better this week!

Please remember to put WT64 in your keywords section and post a link back here so we can all see it. If you need help or have any questions, feel free to pm me. Please no Sunday uploads. Feel free to make as many cards or projects as you wish for as long as you wish and combine other challenges as well.

Happy stamping,

imastampin 06-08-2006 04:25 AM

Hello

pammyrn 06-08-2006 05:07 AM

Awsome challenge, I will get right on it.

LodiChick 06-08-2006 05:41 AM

This is perfect timing, I have a customer who let me borrow a retired stamp set and an embossing powder called enamelware blue and it is awesome. Just wish I had more images to use it on!!
Oh the ideas....will have to do more later. I have shrink plastic feeling lonely these days...

enamelware

craftycacky 06-08-2006 05:56 AM

This is really sparkly in real life but I'm afraid it didn't scan very well. Thanks for looking!

I just posted a card for the SC and came to check what this one was. It qualifies for this, also. I use my heat gun all the time! Here's mine.

I don't know if I'll be able to play today, sure hope so! Here's a card I did a few months back where I used my heat gun to emboss the limes with clear embossing powder over craft ink. I embossed about three times to get a really thick texture, but unfortunately, it doesn't show up on the scan.

Don't have anything but embossing powders yet. I have a feeling that today's challenge is going to have me adding lots of fun things.. besides stamps.. to my ever growing wish list. Have a dentist appointment in a couple of hours. Gonna try and do something before that. :)

bonnie32002 06-08-2006 06:53 AM

I just finished a sample and will share another idea for your heat gun as well.
Basic black embossing
Melt your wax!
Thanks for looking

imastampin 06-08-2006 07:14 AM

Here's mine. Now gotta run do errands all day! Whew!

Heated Blossoms

Yuck, couldn't stand it after looking at it for a while. The gold I tried around the edges began looking like mold, so I redid the card. I like this one much better.

Re-do

Barbra1224 06-08-2006 07:26 AM

Here's mine. Used two heat techniques: heated pearls and dazzling diamond dust. Thanks Julia!

stampinamy16 06-08-2006 07:33 AM

Add me to the "stuck at work" group... :(

And I so love my heat gun...

curlycurlyhair 06-08-2006 07:50 AM

Here's mine - I used the heat gun to make three shrinky dinks and emboss silver EP...

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=41917

I also did these two yesterday for the Heated Pearls technique using my heat gun...

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=41917

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=41917

And hey - the card I did for the color challenge on Tuesday also used a heat gun with layers of EP to make cracked glass - here it is...

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=41917

As you can see, I use my heat gun all the time! :)

tayloredexpressions 06-08-2006 08:02 AM

*eeks* I called in late to work so I could make this!! Here's mine... my first attempt at a triple challenge card!

Okay here's mine. Had a heck of a time trying to take a picture of the cracked glass without so much glare that you could actually see the image. Oh well....

Best I could do!

WT64 Celebrate You

CELEBRATE YOU

Well, this challenge turned out to be, for me, a bit more complex than I am sure you intended. I decided to finally give Joseph's Coat Technique a try. The first one was a bust and ended in the trash but the 2nd one was passable enough to post. I didn't have a multi-colored ink pad so DD told me about using Reinkers and BabyWipes.

Dawn and I decided it's a good thing we have cordless phones and don't have to pay long distance fees since we spent our stamping time this morning talking to each other and being frustrated together. Isn't having a daughter a wonderful thing?

Thanx for the challenge. It's one for my book!:o

dawnmercedes 06-08-2006 08:39 AM

Took too long froggies:

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...96212&cat=5828

I'm getting a speaker phone so my neck doesn't get a crick in it while chatting/stamping via the phone with Gremhog.

dpierstamper 06-08-2006 08:40 AM

I used the heat gun to emboss and heat treat the ribbon on my card.
Golden Christmas Tree
Have another idea for later--

Julesiana 06-08-2006 08:46 AM

I learned a LOT on this one--MUCH trial and MUCH error!

Anyway here is the finished product:
