Hello & Happy Wednesday everyone. This week I am sharing a video from Olga Koelsch on doing Translucent petals on a Poinsettia. ( I have never seen a plant like this so, it caught my eye one day when I was scrolling YouTube for ideas that I wanted to try) The full name of this video is "How to Paint Outstanding watercolor Christmas flower - Poinsettia" seen here on YouTube.

Stacy, this looks amazing, but not easy. I am going to give it a try but mine likely won't look like hers. We will see how it goes! Thanks for the challenge.
I did do mostly water to fill in the outlines of color petal shapes and then I did use 3 brushes at once, I had one that was probably a size 6 or 8 round ( with the red wash or water on it) and two smaller ones to add the green or deeper pigmented red to the edges of mine.
This was a gorgeous challenge, unfortunately my skills weren't quite up to it, but that gave me the freedom to add some gel pen and stickle lines to jazz it up a bit. Thanks for the challenge, Stacy!
It's lovely to learn new techniques to play with.
