SEP13VSNMINIB ~ Friday, Aug 2nd ~ 6:00pm EST ~ Men & Women
Title: Men & Women
Hostess: Karen (kthaman)
Keyword: SEP13VSNMINIB
Day/Date: Friday, Aug 2nd
Time: 6:00pm EST
When I think opposites, I think about how I approach creating cards for the different genders. For me, I have a set of rules that I follow. For instance I never use lace on a masculine card (that doesn't mean it can't be done - I just find it easier to avoid it ;) ).
Translating that into a challenge was actually pretty easy...
My challenge is to create 2 cards using the same stamp set, but make one of them masculine, and the other feminine. Of course, your cards can be for adults, teens, or children - as long as one is masculine and one feminine.
Bonus points for incorporating any of the following (but NOT required):
Using the same image (not just set)
Using the same layout
Choose a stamp set that is more one gender than another (i.e., a floral set).
Need help? Here are my rules (this is NOT the only way, just how I work):
Masculine:
Texture patterns (i.e., woodgrain)
No pink or purple
No ribbon (twine is fine)
Distressing
Feminine:
Pink
Lace & Ribbon
Flowers
Scripty fonts
I don't include everything on the lists, but they are my starting point.
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Wednesday, August 7th.
2. You have 90 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, SEP13VSNMINIB , when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
I really enjoyed this challenge, Karen! And I got bonus points!!

Thanks for an interesting challenge, Karen! I used the same stamps but just changed up the hardware to make one a little more "girly" than the other but they are pretty much identical. I was going to try to make them more different but had an interruption during the timed challenge (as I'm sure that has never happened to anyone reading this message ... kidding! ;-p) Silhouettes by the Pond by Geenz - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I used a DTGD challenge to go for all the bonus points you're offering, Karen!
1 hour for two cards was pretty good, too - and an extra bonus for me is that now my FIL's birthday card is all ready to go. This was fun!
