Wish I'd known ya'll were here - I'd have come and stalked with you! It's almost 11:30 p.m. here now, though, so I bet you all went to bed! Rest up, there's a great night of stamping ahead tomorrow!
Well, I'm here - just re-checking the shopping list for the Mini. Knew I had everything on the list, just want to make sure it's at "arm's length" and ready to go - and it is. My craft room and stamping space are clear, clean and ready to go. Have just read the "helpful hints" thread and am about to go and clean my Stampin' Scrub to make sure it's dry in time!!!! And then I'm going to check the colour combo's and sketch challenges for some inspiration (what a great idea!!!!). By the time I do all that, it should be time for bed, so I'll be nice and rested and ready to go in the morning - I worked it out, I think it will be about 11am my time Sunday morning (I think 10am for you Frances, aka StampOwl - am I right?)
Well see you all on the flip side - I'm sure I'll be around a bit later tonight to stalk with some of you!!!!

OMG, I think you should win some kind of award as "Most Prepared VSNer" or something. I am in awe.

Well, you see, I'm a Virgo - we're compulsive organisers (not necessarily always the "neatest and cleanest" - but most definitely always the most organised!!) Since posting my last message on this thread, my Stampin' Scrub is cleaned and dried (and right at the top of my stamping area ready to be used), I have scrap paper to the side of my desk ready to go, all my tools are in their rightful place, cardstock is well stocked and in easy reach, all my stamp sets are arranged for easy reference and use and I've been through all of the old Sketch Challenges and Colour Challenges and made a few notes (I've got about 13 of each type of challenge listed to use as inspiration if I get stuck).
Now, please stop me if this sounds a tad obsessive - LOL!!!!!
I need to take advantage of tomorrow to get my challenges done as DH is not working (he works every second weekend) which means he gets to look after Maggie while I stamp like a crazed woman - hehehehehehe - yeah, I'm excited!!!!!

Both of your VSN Coordinators are Virgos, Cav (yeah, me too), so we totally "get" you. I've got all my scraps in a hanging file, each in it's own color-coded file folder and sorted by color family. Mini brads are arranged and separated by color in clear plastic boxes. I must admit, my stamping table could use some work this afternoon, but that's only because as I was organizing the rest of the room I put a bunch of piles on it that the cat tipped over. Today you are my role model.

Oh, wow, Katherine! I am envious. I need to do that with my scraps. They are stuffed in a Glad container and starting to overflow. I really need to get a handle on it as it is taking up space on my craft table. Okay, gotta finish work and get this table cleaned off for tonight! See ya girls later!
You ladies are an inspiration. I've cleaned my space, found all the items on my shopping list, and. . . found out I have little adhesive left!! Oh no!! I will survive as the chocolate just arrived a few minutes ago! Taking a deep breath and collecting alternatives to my favorite glue stick!
Is it 7:00 PM EST yet?? (2:00 PM HST)
My table is a mess! I have been working on Christmas cards for an open house tomorrow! What would you sell 12 cards and envies for? I ordered some really cool see-thru plastic cases that hold a dozen cards and envies perfectly! :o) Gonna take my retired sets too...see if I can upload...errrr...I mean sell some of those too!
Well, I had better go clean off my table so I can be prepped to go! :o)

Sounds like you're gonna have fun tonight Cav! I really need to do a clean sweep of my stamping area - meaning CLEAN it, not get rid of things. It's a MESS right now.
Don't you all be to clean here. Someone once said...'A messy desk is a sign of genius.' Or maybe that's better said when the VSN is over.
I used to have that quote sitting on my office desk. I've got everything on the shopping list -- except the chocolate, and I'm going to try to refrain from getting some.
And JoAnn -- I'm jealous of your location: just down the road from notimetostamp.
It's great to live near her, Lois. I hate to admit I actually started stamping before Sharon did, but she has really put a lot more time and energy into it than I do. I've learned so much from her creative talent and we have great stamping parties at her house.

Good morning ladies!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, it's morning for me anyway!!!! Have just popped in to say "Hi" before I do my Sunday morning chores. (And of course, make sure that DH & Maggie are watered and fed before I begin).
I am happy to see I'm not the only Virgo and therefore, not the only obsessive organiser - lol!!!!! I too have my scraps organised. I have 3 small banks of plastic drawers - 4 drawers each and each drawer is only about 3 inches tall and about 6 inches wide - 12 drawers in total. I have 1 drawer for each colour family, then drawers for chipboard items, vellum, neutrals, patterned papers etc. So, all my small scraps are sorted that way. Anything too large is put into a plastic sleeve and that sleeve is stored in the front of the 12x12 plastic envelopes that I store my card stock in. I have one envelope per colour and they're all clearly labeled and stored in colour families, in the same order they are in the catty. It makes it a lot easier to go and find exactly what I want when I want it!!!!!
Anyway, I'm certainly raring to go. I have one disadvantage though - I have a desktop computer (not a lap top) and it's at the completely other end of the house to my craft room!!!!! My plan is, get the challenges, duck down to my room and do a card, come back and load it and chat for a while before heading back to do the next one. I'm thinking that this will be my exercise - for the week!!! LOL!!!
Well, Happy Stalking/Chatting - will be back very soooooooon!!!!!!
Is there a VSN for dummies thread?? I've never done one of these, but would like to know more about it. For instance...November mini is the title. Do we have to have stamps from the current mini or do any stamps work? I have the stuff on the shopping list, sponge brayer, glossy CS and sanding thingy...am also willing to share the chocolate brownies while supplies last lol I just don't know exactly how this works, and if this is the place where it's posted etc.

Okay, let's see if a new hostess can explain this to a new vsn player.
1) November Mini is the title of this VSN - because this is a mini VSN. The big burrito happens in January. Regular size VSNs are a challenge an hour and you have 45 minutes to complete it - 6 challenges on Friday night: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11pm. Saturday is the same way, only it starts at 12noon and goes until 11pm (these are Eastern Time and the times from the last big VSN.) Because this is a mini, there are only 4 challenges tonight and you have 2 weeks to do them in. No time limits for getting the cards done.
2) Whatever stamps you have and want to use, use. Sometimes there are challenges for a specific category of stamp: animals, flowers, leaves, etc., but use what you want.
3) At 7pm, the 4 hostesses will post their challenges up for everyone to see. Then you get to go and stamp. You can do whatever challenges you want to do, skip whatever ones you don't want to do - same goes with the regular VSN.
Stalk...Stalk......I can't wait...only a little over 1 hour to go.
I pulled a lot of stuff this morning before I went to a Baby Shower for my Niece/God-Daughter. Just got home and organized the rest. I don't have a stamping room so I have to pull everything out and set up in the kitchen. Card Tables, etc. I have my 81 year old mother living with me... got her fed so I could clear off the kitchen table and finish setting up the work area. The other tables are for my computer and stamping supplies.
Last month I was a virgin at VSN and had so much fun I had to come back for this month's challenges. I think the hostesses last month did a fantastic job with the challenges and I am sure this month's will be even better.
I never thought I could have so much fun stamping and talking with great people all over the world. Can't wait for the games to being.

VSN is super easy and lots of fun, glad you are going to play along!! You can use any stamps you like, and if you have the stuff on the shopping list you are set (be expecting a vist from me to steal some brownies  )
