Saturday 1:00 pm EST ~ JAN08VSNH ~ Let's Do Our Nails...well, sort of...~Chat thread
Title: Let's Do Our Nails... well, sort of... Hostess: Erica (msdaiquiri) Keyword: JAN08VSNH Day/Date: Saturday, January 19th Time: 1:00 PM EST
As a teenager, my parents were very protective about anything that involved boys, but they never minded if I went to or had slumber parties. One of the things my girlfriends and I used to do at slumber parties was paint our nails. We loved to do manicures and pedicures for each other.
So in honor of this special Girls Night Out, your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to make a card using the Polished Stone technique. Not only are these cards fun to make, but they are so pretty! So go wild and create something stunning,!
Beate has a wonderful tutorial for this technique:

Erica. Looks like a great challenge. One question - if we don't have the sealer is that an issue?
If you don't have the sealer, you can still stamp on it, just hit it with your heating tool to make sure its very dry, and be careful when touching it.

I used Adirondack Mixatives and I did need to use the sealer. I decided to not use it on one of my cards and the metallic mixative was coming off. You might try to use regular hairspray to set the ink. You can use hairspray for pastels, it might work on this also!
This looks like a beautiful challenge Erica. Thanks. I cannot access the samples though. It says that I am trying to access a restricted area. Is it just me or is there a problem there?

Well, we've got to head out to Gatlinburg (see my post in the stalking thread if you really want to know more), so I'll have to play later. I haven't done this technique in forever, so it should be fun! See you gals in a few hours. Have fun for me!!!

Hit refresh and then you should see the thumbnails at the bottom of Erica's challenge post.
You definitely don't need the metallic ink ~ it just gives it a different look. I tried mine both ways and it looked less "muddy" without it. I think it depends on the colors you use and the look you're trying to achieve.
Ah, bummer. This is the one I have to skip. I didn't go get the supplies soon enough, but I'm so intrigued by the challenge and I'll have to try it sometime. Guess I'd better go make lunch for my family... sheesh.
