Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
So which do you do:
- write VSN on your calendar and say no to anything that comes up for those same dates so that you can fully participate?
- hope to play along when you can between other things that come up?
I do the first. I am a SAHM that devotes the vast majority of my time to my family, so when I know there is a VSN or VSBN, I write it down, inform my family, and say no to anything that comes up. If DH feels like it, he will drive them where they want to go while VSN is going on. I just love these events and because I spend so much time on my family normally, I don't feel bad at all doing this.
When my girls were smaller, though, I definitely did the second option, playing along as I could!
Do you have any VSN rituals, or things you have to have with you when you stamp?
I have to have either classical, contemporary Chrisitian, or soft rock playing. Chocolate is always nice, but I am getting away from that for health reasons!
Ohhh I love to have a chocolate treat....either hot tea or coffee.....and definitely my iTunes playing! Sometimes I'm actually on Skype with a fellow stamper during some of the time too!
I sort mine a similar way, too. I keep them by color in page protectors and I keep the page protectors with its appropriate stack of colored cardstock. I use them so much now! In fact, rather than cut into a new sheet of paper, I will adapt my project to the scraps I have. And for the tiny scraps from those scraps, I punch a variety of small shapes out and store them in an empty SU! embellishment container. They add a nice finishing touch to a lot of cards!
Where is the shopping list? I am just getting back into stamping and want to make sure I have everything I *might* need---plus, an excuse to go shopping is never a bad thing ;)

Yes! I was wondering where the shopping list was... Although I was hoping it meant that there wasn't one. LOL. Not that I don't love shopping, but I'm sick of snow and would prefer to stay inside and forget how many feet of the stuff there is outside...
My card stock scraps go in to the same file folder as my full sheets of card stock. My DP scraps are all together on a drawer separate from my full sheets. I try to go to them first rather than cut in to a full sheet of DP. I hoard my DP......
I read the second post which mentioned having images to match their theme - if it's a treasure chest I'm in trouble. I'd have to resort to clip art (which I've done in the past). I have absolutely no idea what other images would match a "treasure" theme?!?!?!

This group of hostesses were very clever with this theme. I can't wait for you to see the challenges!!
Sharon there are two peeks up in the fan club section if you wanted to get started early? but, I don't know what time zone you are in so, I don't know what time to tell you. but, its 6 PM Eastern Standard Time tonight
I've begun warming up.....I really injured a back and shoulder muscle while at the YMCA yesterday, so I couldn't go to any classes there today, so I am staying home all day to stamp instead! Not a bad trade-off . By the time VSN rolls around (6 hours to go!), I should be in the groove!
I've made tags for another swap this morning. Would that be considered a warm up? I also cleaned after I messed. I CANNOT create in a mess. Just saying.....
I have some minor construction going on in the house. it started yesterday morning.
Little back story, our garage was converted into a usable room. However the original laundry area of the "garage" was never enclosed properly so outside air has been killing us in the utilities.
The guy shows up and pulls out the machines, then the very first thing he did was cut 8 feet of our internet cable because he didn't now what it went to. uh.... the internet?!?! LOL! 24 hours later it's fixed! I made sure he knew that was the first thing to do today and that I had an important event to attend via that cable! I am not addicted... I am not addicted... I am not addicted...

Just got back from Michael's. Didn't find anything that I thought might fit for the challenges tonight but of course I don't know what they are so how would I know if things would fit or not (lol!).
Yes, my desk. And I still haven't done it. I go over there and do a few things, then have to get back on here to make sure I don't miss anything!!
Talk about adiction!!
Wah! I am going to be late for the first challenge! DH can't get home in time to drop my oldest off at a Girl Scout event. Fortunately, it is only 10 minutes away so I should be back with 45 minutes to spare.
When the challenges start there will probably be a link here.
Otherwise just click on VSN in the forums. Also a link to VSN on home page at end of daily challenges.
I'm going to work on getting the rest of the behind the scenes stuff where you can see it for this challenge. So if you click on something & don't see anything give me a few min & then try again.
