Challenge Description
“Like”, “Just say No” to a break stampers! Take a “chill pill”, straighten your stamping table and try this “wicked cool” challenge!
I was inspired by the striking blue and occasionally rainbow eye-shadow that many of us sported in the 80’s. Your challenge is to use pastels (or even try real eye-shadow) on your card. Additionally, you must have some sparkle as well (like frosted eye-shadow would be). For example, use some stickles or some glitter or even the faux dazzling diamond dust technique on your card. There are no color requirements, although I did wear a lot of pastel colors in the 80’s.
“Fer shur” have a good time, and don’t be a “major spaz”! “As if!”-You awesome stamper you!
Uploading Instructions
You have 45 minutes to complete this challenge.
When uploading, be sure to put the challenge code AUG06VSNJ in the keyword section. If you use additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. The keywords ensure that I am able to find the card for judging!
Copying and pasting the keyword code is recommended to avoid typos.
You do not have to post a link to your creation or a thumbnail in the chat thread to be judged, though doing so will increase the number of views your card receives.
If you have any questions, I’ll be available.
Happy stamping!
Examples
Here are some samples to help inspire you!

Notes: My example uses pastels over white craft ink. I used hairspray (another vital late 80’s beauty product-then used to produce mile high bangs) to set the pastels and iridescent ice embossing powder over Versamark to create the dazzling diamond dust look. Sorry it is difficult to photograph so much sparkle! Cool Caribbean reminded me of my aqua lame’ prom dress with floral lace overlay from 1988-LOL. I can’t wait to see what you all are inspired to create!
Warning:
I tried using hairspray on pastels that a) had no versamark under them and b) were on black cardstock. I ruined my Halloween card, so apparently one should use white or light cardstock if he or she wants to do the faux dazzling diamond dust technique (using II ep) over pastels.
It’s also best if you don’t overdo it on the hairspray. You just need a light misting to set the pastels. Using too much can make your beautiful pastels run.

I wasn't much of the blue pastel eye shadow but I did wish my mom allowed me to use purple, so I made this card Titled 'Rember' in honor of all the girls who wanted to wear purple eye shadow and live out of the box! Gotta go to our hair appointment in less than 30 minutes. Thanks for the fun challenges see you all later tonight!
I was going to use my chalks, but I couldn't find them!! So I used eyeshadow instead. See thumbnail for evidence!

Thanks for a great challenge Rhonda!
Ooh, I enjoyed this one. I just got some organdy ribbon today, which works out perfectly for an 80's style card. Of course, if only I could have reproduced a prom dress with the layers of fabric or taken a picture of my 80's style helmet of hair, it would have made the entire card even more "as if". :-)
I loved this challenge! I used some Bare Minerals Glimpse (eye shadow) to color in the butteryfly wings! Who would have thought I could use that for stamping! lol

I am having a great time, but with all the scanning and loading I am getting behind.. Up stairs, down stairs....
Had to wait for my camera batteries to charge because when I scanned it my one green flower was bright bright yellow and my card looked ugly so here it is.
