Challenge Description
Think Shimmery Cardstock is the Bomb-Diggity??
Well, try this Bodacious Technique to get your own!! This challenge has you using the essential 80s styling tool � hairspray � to create a totally righteous look. Directions
You�ll need:
* Pearl-Ex Powder
* Travel-sized pump spray hairspray, one per color of PE
* Dark Colored Cardstock
Scoop the tip of your scissors into the PE powder and load about 1/2 inch of powder onto the tip (I did not have a measuring spoon, and this slides off better anyway). It is about 1/4 tsp. Uncap your hairspray container. Pour it into the travel-sized hairspray. Close up and shake well. Spray onto dark cardstock, shaking every couple of pumps.
Be sure to use a sharpie and label the spray bottle for later use. You can just refill your travel bottle from a larger bottle of hairspray as you get low!!!
The CS tends to curl a bit, but it will flatten out as it dries or you start to cut it.
BONUS: Spray over a Stencil!!!!!!

another 80's must have Shimmering Eyeshadow!!!
if it is a cake you have to scrape it off...if it is the new losse mica stuff they sell in the kiosks at the mall you just dump it in like pearl ex!!!!
WOW, just got done doing a pearlex card for the last challenge cuz that was the only shimmery stuff I could think of....and used a satin finish spray on it...had that from soot stamping. Guess I will go see what i can come up with for this one. lol

The "Prize" for this VSN is to be put in the "Molly" Gallery...named after that amazing 80's Icon Molly Ringwald...it os sort of the Oscar or Emmy of this 80s Retro VSN. HTH!!

WOW! Rachel, your samples are beautiful! Unfortunately I don't have PE or travel hairspray, so I can't play today. But I am certainly going to try this in the future!
hey my name is katie, i am 12 years old, and i am lisa's daughter. i always enjoy doing VSN with my mom, and i had everything i needed to do this hairspray technique so i decided to make a card and put it up on here. my mom is gone right now; she can't help me so it might not work since i am all new to this but here goes:
Okay, I managed to get a card done (will upload later), but I did not have any luck with this one. Accidentally dropped a whole tub of PE in my mom's lap....and have clogged two sprayers!! Anyone know how to unclog it? I have tried running the sprayer under hot water, and it didn't seem to work. I think part of the problem is that I chose Macro Pearl, which is a thicker substance than most of my Pearl-Ex's. Oh well, live and learn.
