FEB10VNSG ~ Saturday February 27th ~ 1:00 P.M. EST ~ ON THE WATERFRONT
Title: On the Waterfront
Hostess: peggysue
Key word: FEB10VSNG
Day/date: Saturday, February 27th
Time: 1:00 P.M. EST
Vancouver, the host city of the Winter games for the 2010 Olympics, was named for British Captain George Vancouver, who explored the area in the 1790s. Vancouver is not only a busy seaport but recreational activities involving water abound.
If you had the privilege of seeing the opening ceremonies, the entire stage at one point was one huge ocean with ice floes and spouting whales, truly a technical marvel. But the reality is even better, those spouting whales and gorgeous waterviews really exist as Vancouver is a vibrant city poised on the waterfront. Your challenge is to make a card that incorporates water as a theme, such as a sailing ship, pond, whales, mermaid, beach ~ some sort of water scene. Have fun!
P.S. . . This card did take me beyond the challenge time of 45 minutes because of experimenting with the embellishments. However, if you followed the basic design of the main image stamped in black on colored paper with some layers and more basic embellishments, assembly itself would be very quick. This is provided for inspiration.
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON MONDAY, MARCH 1st.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, FEB10VSNG, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
Joyfullyhis - do you have a beach ball, a kid's bucket and shovel, sand castle - anything along that line? How about a beach chair or a mountain scene that you can put a 'lake' in?

I've even created 'waves' using a pair of craft scissors with a scallop in them . . .or do you have a crab? A fish? Make a boat using paper scraps?

I didn't sleep well and woke up extra early so I thought I'd catch a cat nap before VSN to power up and wouldn't you know it, I overslept! EEK! (blushing)
You could also use a watering can, frogs on a Lilly pad with some blue paper, fish, rocks with a water scene...the sky's the limit. You could do a Moose or deer drinking water.

Or a duck . . . or one of my favorite retired (?) sets from SU had frogs in it . . . cattails would work.
Ooops, I have to pause. DH just got home and need to fix lunch :(
You're a good wife!!!!!!!! My DH just had to fix his own lunch! Don't tell him that someone stopped VSN to fix anything for their hubby, because if my DH finds out, I'll be in BIG trouble. I told him all hubbys took care of themelves during VSN.......LOL

My BF has to take card of ME during VSN - he has to bring me food and drinks when I need them and sometimes I even get him to take and crop my photos ready LOL.

Mine do a lot of useful things, but none of them know how to use the espresso machine. I'm on my own, there. Which reminds me...I think I need some. Back in a few.

It doesn't matter what I do to try to clear my schedule, the family never has yet really understood about VSN so I've resigned myself to complete four to five challenges at most and be content with that . . .
And actually if all you are able to do is just one challenge, its all about having a bit of fun, everyone is welcome for one or all of them!

You're right Peggy Sue. It's all about having fun and being creative.
The family seems to use that word when it comes to stamping . . . ob . . . obsess . . . obsession? Golly, I don't know why!!!! Its more of an intense hobby. That occupies many of my waking thoughts.
