We think we finally figured out a way to get rid of DH during VSN, ask him to do the first challenge!!! We're just kidding, we don't want rid of our DH's ;), but we do want to challenge them. SoFriday Aug. 18 the first challenge will be a challenge just for the GUYS! Hubbies, boyfriends, brothers, dad's, adult son's, uncle's, etc. any man in your life can play. If you've managed to clear the house for VSN don't worry, we are calling it a "guy's" challenge but we will have a category for any of us girls that want to play. We will be putting these winners in the VSN Winner's Gallery also, so start prepping your special guy now, we can't wait to see what he comes up with!!
~There will still be a kids challenge, it will be Sat. Aug. 19 at 2:00, est.~
*We will be posting a VSN schedule, with times and challenge codes as has been done in the past. Look for it in the next several days, as well as a few other announcements!
This is an awesome idea!!!!! Whoever thought of this must be a genius!
So you YOU the genius!? LOL! This sounds like a fun idea. My guys won't be home from work by the first challenge, but maybe I can get them to play late! LOVE the idea!!
He'll make shelf units, cut & sand wood blocks, save and hunt down supplies, even vacuum my stamp room, but he won't stamp! I'll tell him it involves money...money always talks! But I wouldn't be counting on seeing anything from him!
Wish my husband would try but there is no way, oh well. Can't wait to see what the DH's come up with. Great idea. There are so many new and fun things about this VSN, way cool coordinators!!!

Nope, wasn't me.... I think Heather came up with the idea! SHE'S the genius!!!!!
Can someone tell me when the challenges start on the 18th and 19th and how long they go on for (i know they last 45 min) but how many challenges are there?! I am looking forward to participating but just want to make sure I have times!

Wishful thinking, don't tell DH I said that!
I've already asked DH/my Richard about the challenge and the answer is a flat out NO! I'll contact the Richard in my avatar and ask him next!
ooooh, I could actually get my DH to stamp...I have some great cards he's made me in the past...but they're going out of town so I could have the house all to myself...bummer, but fun idea!

Don't have a DH but I have a goofy boyfriend. Does that count? Don't know if he'll be around Friday evening but he did make a card for me once before. It was hilarious...none of the colors or stamps he used went together ( I think he had bunnies and seashells) but at least he tried. I still have it too. I'd post it but I think he stamped some obsceneties  haha

Totally sounds like my DH... he'd stamp me an x-rated card if he could find the stamps... he thinks someone shoudl come up with a line of "naughty" stamps!!! LOL!!!

Denise - just sent you a PM..check out the web-site I attached.
Seems to me I saw someone link a site once that had very naughty stamps. I thought they were funny, not exactly what you'd see in a Hallmark store! lol

Oh please, please don't let Badmom read this !!!!!! lol, I can't wait to here what my hubby says when I tell him about this challenge. Once I got him to help me assemble a ton of cards I had to do for an order and he looks for supplies for me at auctions but that is about it. I can imagine what I would have to promise in return!!!
I just told my DH about the first challenge Friday (and this is my 1st VSN) -- he laughed, said "No Way" -- then giggled a little and said, "Oh all right!" Whoa! Can't believe it was that easy!
This sounds totally fun, but I'm doubting the possibility of getting DH to play. On the off chance that he will, am I allowed to coach? I'm sure I'd have to help him find stuff.

Oh my gosh! I told my dad about the challenge the other night. I told him he "HAD" to come stamp with me. LOL I figured we'd laugh about it, and I'd be stamping for the girls team alone. Well, tonight he asked what time he needs to be here to stamp!!!! YIPPEEE!!!! He's gonna do it! He even teased my youngest DD that he gets to stamp with Mommy and she doesn't. She cried. He's in a little bit of trouble for that, but he's still got some big-time bonus points for coming to stamp with me!
(BTW the little bit of creativity I have came from him, not so much from Mom)
*rotfl*
Just told my husband, that there'd be a challenge especially for the guys - and he asked: "What is the challenge then, throwing beer cans or extreme TV watching?" :-) But I'll try and persuade him - perhaps he can do at least a card with a bottle cap? ;-))
The only time my DH stamps is when I tell him what to stamp, where to stamp it and with what color ink... then I have to supply the paper, the ink and the stamp.
BTW, it was snoopy note cards for HIS 85 year old aunt, a birthday present.
I couldn't guess if he will do it or not. If he does, I bet it will be a black truck stamped on a piece of hmm... gray cardstock...I will tell him of the challenge tonight.

At least your DH will want to do something "normal" !!!!! My DH is threatening to do something x-rated....
My hubby is in OR and has to work that night anyway. Even if he were here, he wouldn't make a card. He practically gets hives when he walks in my room.
I don't think the four furry boys or the one with scales would get much done either. Well, my one fat cat would help me if I got the organza ribbon out...he loves the stuff. Jake my lab puppy would eat paper, chipboard, etc. OK, not much help there either.

Hey Denise... I told hubby about the challenge, he said "we'll see what Friday brings". Man does that sound like a phrase from my youth. So we'll see, he didn't say no.
I peeked at your blog and you're right, your daughter is adorable!
I'm off to do the pre-challenge..

I think the type of challenge we have planned for the guys will be really cool... they might kind of get in to it!!! Hopefully you all can convince your guys to play! And if not, the ladies can play, too, so it's all good!
I just told DH that the first challenge was for the guys. He said that that would be easy. He then folded a piece of junk mail in half and handed it to me and said, 'There, I'm done.' Geesh... men.
The only time I have ever gotten a man to stamp with me was just a few days ago. He is a friend who was visiting. He is a computer graphics artist and makes video games. The first thing he went for was red cardstock and the Crosshatch Background stamp. So maybe I will dangle those in front of DH's nose and see if I get any reaction from him. lol
