It might be cold by then, so a crock pot roast is simple and filling food that could keep your energy going to scrapbook longer hours! I'll have to convince my hubby to take the kids somewhere for the weekend so I can participate in this VSBN.
I see you are from Southern California. Does it ever get really cold there? Some here in northern Ohio have already turned their heat on a few nights or to just take the chill off the house in the mornings. We've already had some areas get a light frost. We'll be ready
Glad we have extra time to complete the challenges as I will not be home that weekend. It is the weekend of our church conference's annual women's deeper life retreat.

We turned our heat on a couple of weeks ago! Our DD caught a cold and when the night temps dropped to near freezing, my hubby felt bad and broke the threat of not turning it on until October 1st!! LOL! Hope its not as cold as last year!
I agree with Cheryl too! Too bad its the weekend before opening day (deer hunting)...all the hunters will be getting ready for the big day!!

This made me chuckle ... I miss the days of living in MI and "everyone" getting ready for Deer Hunting and deer camps, hahaha! My DH was threatening no heat but he actually turned on the space heater the other night when the temps dropped, not ready for frost yet ;)
I am HOWEVER, very ready for a weekend VSBN!

This sounds like such a good time! I am going to participate. I have lots of photos to choose from, and now that my older two take lots of pictures with their iPods, maybe they will print out some they want me to scrapbook. I have been making so many cards the past two years for my church that I have made just a handful of layouts. This event will give me a wonderful starting point to jump into it. I am very excited!
Sneak Peak--> Challenge 3 Family Holidays. This one can be a traditional holiday or a non traditional holiday or even an event that your family does every year. This one has 4 different options to choose from OR you could do all 4.
I just noticed my hubby has a football trip that weekend, so he'll be gone from Friday through Monday. So bummed. Trying to think what else I could do with my kids that weekend (i.e. who can take them all weekend?)!
I'm gonna mark this down on my calendar and hope that I get the chance to play along a bit. Maybe DGS will have a scouting weekend or go visit his mom that weekend!
We just turned on our heat last weekend just to take off the chill overnight. I noticed it had gone down to almost 60 degrees in the house and I just couldn't get my feet warm when I went to bed and then I can't sleep so I broke down and turned it on!

Well, there are 2 options ... friends or family perhaps a sleep over for each of them OR lots of you and the kids activities (i.e. camping in the LR w/ blanket forts, popcorn and a special movie, etc) with LOTS of Photo moments which turns into GREAT pages the next weekend when hubby is home to take the kids out for an afternoon?
The awesome part of VSBN is "technically" you can't miss it because even if you can't play during the weekend, you can still stop by for some quick chatting, inspiration from the challenges and time the next weekend to finish your pages
