Hello! Monika here today, bringing you and easy tutorial on how to make a scallop circle/circle card. If you know me, you know how I love circle cards. They are so easy to make, and just the shape alone will give your cards an extra touch.
What you will need:
-Cuttlebug machine (or any other die-cutting machine you have)
-Spellbinders Scallop Circle and Circle dies (or any other scallop and circle dies, punches)
-If you use a Cuttlebug machine, you will need Plate A, B, C and a metal shim
There are two ways of making a scallop circle/circle card:
#1
Step 1-Cut two 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" square card stock (will depend on the size of your dies you use-I used my biggest scallop circle die)
Step 2-Using your die-cutting machine, cut out two scallop circles. (If you use a Cuttlebug machine, you need to put Plate A, B, card stock, die, metal shim, and Plate C through your machine.)
Step 3-Take one of them and score a line about 1" from top.
Step 4-Add adhesive to flap, and attach the two scallop circles.
Step 5-Using the biggest coordinating circle, die-cut a circle base piece and decorate as desired.
#2
Step 1-Cut an 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of rectangle and fold it in half.
Step 2-Place your biggest scallop die on top, making sure that die hangs off the edge about 2/8" where card stock is folded.
Step 3-Die-cut folded piece.
Step 4-Using the biggest coordinating circle, die-cut a circle base piece and decorate as desired.
Before I cut my circle base piece, I like to attach paper strips, then die-cut my circle.
If you don't have any dies, you can make a simple circle card (without scallop edge) the same way. Use a circle cutter, punches, or even a plate (as your template) to make your circle. You can decorate the edges with ribbon:

I hope you will give this a try!
