I would like to know if there is something that I can make to keep a side step card from falling flat! I have tried everything and the card eventually falls.
This may not apply since you're dealing with a step card, but just in case, are the top/longest parts of the card scored with the mountain (raised) side inside or out? If inside, it can help a top folded card stay upright.
I usually add a little strip of paper, maybe about 21/2"-3" long, scored about 1/2" from each end: I stick it inside the card, to the back snd front, about an inch up, to act as a brace. I've always found they tend to start falling flat after a while. It means you can't write on the inside, but there's plenty of space to write a greeting on the back.
Is this just for displaying purposes? I have found that the picture holders I get at HL that have the adjustable width base work great for this, as well as other cards with "special needs" for displaying.
Use some very heavy weight cardstock. Buying 110# coverweight cardstock isnt always enough because 110# isnt a consistent weight. Jennifer McGuire had a video about this. I like Papertrey cardstock. Its always very sturdy. I believe Jennifer recommended Gina K and a specific labeled Neenah cardstock. But the latter only comes in white and kraft that I know of.
