There were some bad packs of SU ultrasmooth vanilla and whisper white last year. I think it may be your paper, not the staz on.

The stazon will run on any paper that you put it on when you rub a solvent on it. And that is what the gamsol is. When you are blending try not to go all the way to the edge. Hope this helps

Then what are our options? Stazon is the most permanent ink I know of. Are there any inks out there that won't run with gamsol?

I have NEVER had a problem with StazOn running on any paper I've used it on. I just colored in a ton of images that I had no choice but to rub over the StazOn ink, and not a smear/smudge in sight. I don't even use Artist Grade OMS, just the stuff I had on hand from Home Depot.

I've also never had a problem with gamsol and stazon...I think it's a bad batch of paper.

I've never tried StazOn with my odorless mineral spirits. I've had excellent results with both Ancient Page Coal Black and VersaFine Onyx Black. Even SU's Classic Black did all right, but I prefer Ancient Page and VersaFine because they are a "blacker" black than the SU ink.

I've started using the Archival Jumbo pad when I'm going to be using my prismacolors or aquapainter. I've also started using the splender blending pencil.
Inky Antics has both. www.inkyantics.com and go to the accessories.

Sorry, forgot to add that the Archival ink seems to give a more 'fine' line. Works awesome especially when you have a detailed stamp.

I had the same problem with Stazon and whisper white. I switched to Memories black which is a permanent, waterproof, ink with terrific results. It also works well with watercolors and markers because it is waterproof! Hope that helps.

Whew I've just started playing with gamsol. It smeared with the Color Box ink I have and I had planned on trying the StazOn next

I use my ColorBox black with watercolors and even bleach and it worked fine. Gamsol was the first product that it smeared with...but then it's a solvent
