Default Crop A Dile Question - problem with product

Hi Girls,

I need some help. I bought this item and used it on the medium coasters to make holes for the coaster boxes and the large hole punch (#3) now sticks and it was hard for me to get the large punch to come out of the hole (so you can punch a hole again). I finally got it out but now it won't punch anything. I used it once and this is what happened.. what did I do wrong? I used the # 3 with the C side (so that was done right) but it won't punch anymore. Has anyone else had this problem and could help me get it fixed.. I wonder if I have to buy a new one now..

I thought these thing would go through med heavy coasters, but maybe not, let me know.

I appreciate your help.

Pam

It sounds like you're punching w/ the eyelet setter. There are 2 sizes of hole punches, and those are located on the sides of the tool where the gauges are. If you squeeze the handles together you'll see the punches move toward the holes on the sides....make sense???

Not really but then again I am not home right now but at work. I will check it out when I get home.. I read the directions and I must have read it wrong. Do you know what # and what letter to use to make a large hole? I used the # 1 and A to make a small hole and that worked great and only assume you had to use # 3 and C to make the bigger holes.. must have read that long. Thanks for your help.

Uh oh... if you are using the part that requires a letter and # combo that definitely means you are punching using the setter part... the punches are located closer to the squeeze part of the pink handle - one side does the 1/8" and the other 3/16"... take another look at your CAD tonight - HTH!

I will have to look.. but know that you wrote that. I believe I was using the 3/16 hole punch (doesn't it have a knob on it) and using that along with the correct # or letter (can't remember) what I was suppose to use.. I think I just mixed up the # and letters on this post.. but who knows. I will try and look when I get home.. thanks so much for your help in answering my stupid question.

Ok, Just looked at a post that had the directions for this thing and I had it listed wrong here. I used the A and # 1 to make a 3/16 hole is that not correct?

If not, what setting do you use to make holes in things.. not setting things.. I must have read the directios wrong.

Please help.

Thanks,

Pam

You need the 3/16" hole on the side (there are one on each side). The only thing you can adjust is how deep you want the hole to be.

Once you get home and look at it, you'll see. (the top part that moves is where you set the eyelets).

Here's a photo with the hole punches circled.... Definitely sounds like you are using the eyelet settings to try to punch holes.

Pam, check out the link to the video in this thread--it helped me visualize how to use the Cropadile:

Forums at Splitcoaststampers

The quality isn't the best, but the visuals might help.

Right... you only punch holes with the things on the side, not the "plier" type thing on the top. That's for eyelets. I poke holes easily in coasters with the hole punch sides.

Thanks guys.. I think I am just stupid.... I will look at the video and see if that helps. I noticed there were two bases and maybe I was using the wrong side, is that possible? Let me review the video and see if that helps. I appreciate all your help. I think the problem is still putting a hold through the med think coaster.. still a problem. It's late.. I am not making sense.. thanks all.

Pam... let us know what you think after you watch the video.... there are three things you can use...

--eyelet part at the top
--small hone punch on the side
--bigger hole punch on the side

Just get a scrap paper and mess around!
