Default Prisma Pencils - Can You Give Me Some Adive?

The search tool doesn't seem to be working, so I'll just post the question here. I've read that lots of people really like their Prismacolor Pencils. So of course I had to go out and buy a set!! Now what do I do with them??? I know I can just color, but I've read something about Gamsol. Any tips or techniques that you can offer would be great. Thanks!

I love using my prisma pencils with the gamsol also. I know that there is a TON of info on this site about that subject. I think it would probably be easier if we all wait until the "search" is up and running again. Knowing how hard everyone behind the scenes works here it shouldn't be long...

Here is a link to an excellent tutorial on the Gamsol magic technique!

Gamsol Magic Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers.

I have only had my prismas for a short time and love using this technique. I know it is widely recommended to get the made in Taiwan blending stumps, because they are firmer and blend the color better. Also, if you can't find Gamsol, look for odorless mineral spirits. Gina K. Designs sells this and you can find it at Michaels in the fine art section (Mona Lisa Odorless Paint Thinner- I think???). I would definitely check out the tutorial, it was a huge help to me! HTH!

Default prisma pencils

Hi, there seem to be so many of these pencils. Are they all wax based or do U need to go for a particular set - and what colours do U have?

I bought my initial set of 48 from My Favorite Things and have added to my collection from Michael's. Here is a link to the prismas on the MFT site http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/pro...products_id=68.

I honestly am not sure of all the colors I have, I haven't updated my list the last couple of times I've been to Mike's. I know that Michaels sells several different sets of the prismas, but I don't know what colors are in the sets. HTH!
