Today, my email inbox had the coolest announcement from Perfect Paper Crafting! Known far and wide for their amazing Perfect Layers Tool and other handy dandy products, they have now introduced the Perfect Portfolio!
This is a customizable, rigid, magnetic, portable drawing/sketch/coloring surface. Perfect for any artist, crafter or colorist.
There are so many reasons for me to love this new product - I will be ordering (at least) one:
1. Stealth. I don't always want it to be obvious that I'm carrying a sketch pad with me.
2. Customizable. First, for paper variety. Sometimes I want to have sketch paper and then also my final drawing paper with me - no need for two tablets with the Portfolio. I can choose how much of each sheet to take and it holds 20 sheets.
Also, I often work on different things in the same sketch book. I may have sketches for polymer clay projects, personal artwork, illustration projects. With the Portfolio, it will be simple enough to only bring those I wish to work on - to a waiting room, another room of the house, anywhere I want to bring my work with me.
I often even end up making notes on a sketch pad page. Now, it will be so simple to include some scrap or lined paper in the back for my notetaking.
3. The easel option. Handy! For holding reference material or even for display. This will be great for taking photographs, too.
4. Of course, the rigid portable surface.
5. Multiples will stack together and hold. I can imagine having more than one ;) .
6. The pages will be well-protected and contained. Many times I have packed sketch pads in a travel bag only to have curled edges, etc. That does not make me happy! Keeping everything safe is a huge plus. And I can tuck in reference, snap it under the magnetic flap and not worry that it will fall out of my sketchbook.
More than enough reasons for me! Just thought I'd share my enthusiasm for the Portfolio  .
How smooth is the coloring surface? Will bumps or designs appear on paper when I'm coloring because of what the surface is made out of?
Thanks,
Ginger
I believe it will be perfectly smooth (and you can put up to 20 sheets on it, too):
"High quality rigid front and back cover makes for a perfect portable work surface. Great for sketching, stamping & coloring."
Just what I needed to keep paper still. I just ordered one. Thanks for the heads up!!!
Linda, try contacting them and see if they can apply the discount code to your order! I was trying to reach someone today to verify that this was a public code, and couldn't get it posted before you ordered.
My wish list gets longer every time I visit Splitcoast - can you all quit being such fantastic enablers and alerting me/us to such amazing products...please? I WANT IT ALL!!! Seriously, though - I totally need this!

And this time I did not even have to visit this forum...Amazon did a perfect job with it's recommended for you list. Seriously they are just as bad at enabling LOL.
I purchased 2 of these. I use one of them all of the time when coloring in the coloring books I've purchased. So.....I love it as it helped a lot when I was stuck in our recliner for 2 months. I was able to easily color using this on my lap.
