Default Lets make a list -- Cameo Blade/Speed/Thickness settings for different cardstocks

I have searched for such a list for a while now and couldn't find it anywhere. I thought we could all build a list of what blade/speed/thickness setting is optimal for cutting different cardstocks on Cameo.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a list like this, please share it here for everyone.

List
----------------
  • Bazzill Smoothie cardstock with blade 6, thickness 15, double cut
  • Hobby Lobby's brand of card stock, blade 3, thickness 15, no double cut
  • PTI cardstock, blade 5, speed 3, thickness 33, double cut
  • Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock, blade 5, speed 3, thickness 33, no double cut

Sorry, I'm still learning the Cameo. The presets aren't universal for all card stock types? I think there are at least 2, one for 65# and one for 110#.

Sorry for the question and not an answer.

I'm still learning the Cameo also. I've been successful in cutting Bazzill Smoothie cardstock with blade 6, thickness 15 and a double cut.

Hobby Lobby's brand of card stock, I use blade 3 and thickness 15, no double cut.

Leeann, no the presets don't give clean cuts with all cardstocks. For best use and to preserve your blade life, you need custom settings with different cardstocks. Thats why I want to make a list here.

Thanks Terry! I added the info to the first post. Please post here if you use any other cardstock and work out the settings.

Hi Chaitali, great idea to gather a list of settings for different card stock. I use Neenah Solar White 80# and a blade setting of 5, speed/pressure at 3/33, single pass.

Thanks for the great idea! I just received my Silhouette also and have had a few struggles... Mainly with PTI.

While you can use the setting someone else gives you as a guideline, the cut settings will vary (sometimes a lot) from machine to machine. There are so many factors to take into account when setting up your machine to cut. The humidity, paper thickness, how tightly woven the fibres are, which way the grain is running, how much die is used (darker colours are harder to cut), how dull/sharp the blade is, etc. etc. etc. I've been using an electronic die cutter for a long time and had to change setting from one day to the next on the same cardstock many times. Its all a learning curve how to "read" your machine and paper.

Have you tried the Silhouette/ Cameo sticky thread? You would get some good advice from the ladies on there, they are very knowledgeable.
